Film and Converging Media

Prerequisites: Media and Communication Studies, 30 Credits and/or Media and Communication Studies, Film Studies, 30 Credits.

Content: This course explores the ongoing convergence of media that has evolved with increased digitalization. More specifically, students will learn how digitalization has transformed the conditions of production, distribution and exhibition of film. In seminars, students are encouraged to discuss contemporary "ecological" approaches to thinking about documentary film and how these new heuristic and activist-oriented approaches challenge more traditional categories of film and media theory.

Teaching Methods: Teaching can be made of lectures, film screenings, and seminars.

Assessment: The course can be assessed through oral examinations in seminar form and a written examination.
