Prerequisites: Standard university admission requirements.

Content: The course provides basic knowledge concerning the structure and function of animal and plant cells, as well as knowledge about how environmental factors and adjoining cells affect the cell's development and life processes. The immune system, cell cycle regulation, and cancer are addressed. During the course, the basics of laboratory work with eukaryotic cells, including cell culture methods, are introduced.

Teaching Methods: The course consists of lectures, seminars, group discussions and laboratory experiments.

Assessment: Written examination, seminars and project. Written and oral presentation of laboratory reports and project.
