Content: This course presents and discusses simple economic models that can be used to analyze societal efficiency gains from specialization, migration and free mobility of capital, as well as distributional gains and losses between and within countries. Applications will be made to a range of current policy issues, such as possible effects of globalization, digitalization and automatization and counter-movements such as protectionism and de-integration on economic growth, poverty, public health and environment on the global scale.

The course targets incoming exchange students, regular students seeking electable courses and students that are interested in the effects of globalization and other factors driving structural changes within the economy.

Teaching Methods: Föreläsningar, självständigt arbete, gruppdiskussioner och grupparbeten.
