Content: The course covers universal and regional systems for the protection of human rights, introducing both civil- and political-, as well as economic-, social- and cultural rights, with a particular focus on specific rights. The protection of certain groups, such as children and refugees, are discussed, as well as current challenges in this area of law, such as conflicting rights. State obligations as well as supervisory mechanisms for the implementation of rights are treated throughout the course, with a particular emphasis on the European system for human rights. |
